Marjorie Maxine Campbell was a music loving country girl at heart. She left this world on March 11, 2024 at the age of 95. She was the daughter of Chester and Beulah Honan. She was born on a farm in Northwest Missouri. Margie was the baby of her 7 siblings. James Campbell was to be the love of her life. They married and settled down on a farm in the area. Marjorie and James had three children. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy and her son, Robert.
Right out of college, Marjorie became a teacher in a one room rural schoolhouse called North Prairie. Teaching was her passion. After marrying James, she was a farmer’s wife that loved cooking, gardening, and singing and playing old time hymns. She could harmonize with anyone and had a beautiful alto voice.
In later years, James and Marjorie made a big move to Phoenix. While in Phoenix, she went to school to become a hairdresser. Her customers adored her because she was always doing something kind and loving for them. Many became her lifelong friends. Kindness to others was just one of her many qualities.
In retirement, Margie and Jim became professional resort workers. They traveled many interesting places and got seasonal work wherever they landed. She had a blessed life and was loved by many. She will be greatly missed.
On April 5, there will be a graveside service at 2:00 PM at the National Cemetery for Veterans in Phoenix, followed by a Celebration of Marjorie’s life at her daughter’s home.
