In loving memory of Nancy Ola Goody (AKA Grandma), who peacefully passed away at the age of 90 on February 17th, 2024, at her residence in Peoria, Arizona.
Nancy was born on October 6th, 1933, in Colfax, Washington, the sixth of eight siblings born to Vernon and Minnie Blackhurst. On July 10th, 1957, she married Robert L Goody in Portland, Oregon. Throughout her life, Nancy was a remarkable wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She contributed actively to her community, serving as a member and President of the Emblem Club #412 in Sedona, Arizona. After dedicating over a decade of her life to See’s Candies, Nancy retired and continued to enrich her days with a variety of interests.
Her passions included bowling, cooking, arts and crafts, sewing, camping, card games, and watching Arizona Diamondbacks games on TV without fail. She handcrafted just about anything and everything leaving behind cherished keepsakes for us all to pass on for generations to come. Nancy's vibrant personality made her a beloved figure, and she cherished the lifelong friendships she cultivated. Nancy was Catholic in faith and believed Jesus Christ was her Lord and Savior. She often looked to her Father for guidance, comfort and peace.
Famous for her clam dip, candied sweet potatoes, sweet pickles, and her infamous whooping paddle, Nancy left an indelible mark on the lives she touched. To her family, she was not just a grandmother but a hero, a best friend, and a source of strength. Her love and presence will be deeply missed but cherished always and forever.
