Richard Alvarez, age 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 2:07 p.m., surrounded by loved ones. Born in Los Angeles, California, Richard was the beloved son of Frank and Lydia Alvarez and one of four brothers, including Frank, Larry, and David.

A devoted husband, Richard shared a beautiful life with his wife, Sylvia Alvarez. Together, they raised two daughters, Leanne Lutkus (married to Mark) and Kelli McDonald (married to Brian), and built a loving family that includes five cherished grandchildren: Carlie, Josh, Brooke, Dylan, and Mayah.

Richard was a retired electrical engineer who dedicated many years of service to Raytheon. Known for his warm heart, generous spirit, and unforgettable smile, he touched the lives of many both personally and professionally.

A man of deep faith and a faithful servant of God, Richard lived a life committed to sharing the Gospel. He served as a missionary, leading many to Jesus Christ and exemplifying the love of God through his actions. His devotion to his faith, his family, and his church defined who he was.

Richard had a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles, a well-known sweet tooth, and an immense love for time spent with family and friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Richard’s life will be held on Friday, August 1st at 10:00 a.m. at Discovery Pointe Church, 9812 W. Yearling Rd., Peoria, AZ 85383.
