89, died peacefully Friday, September 7, 2012 at his home, following a long illness. He leaves his loving wife of 67 years, Katherine Gloria (Christen) Wamer; his daughters, Elizabeth Ann Borgman and her husband, Terry; Deborah Ann Wamer Quinlan and her husband Robert; Gloria Holmes; Joni Ann Wamer and her partner Kassie; his sons, Richard Guy Wamer, Jr., and his partner Tama Cepellini; Robert Guy Wamer and his wife Theresa; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his loving dog, Buddy. Born in Macksburg, Ohio, Oct. 27, 1922, the son of Jesse and Bertha Wamer, he was a resident of the Sun City area since 1988. Richard was a graduate of King’s Point Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, NY. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Merchant Marines, United States Coast Guard and the Naval Reserves. He retired from Bell Laboratories in 1987.
