Roger Lyle Morgan, of Waddell, AZ passed away surrounded by his family on June 9, 2023.

Roger was born in Morenci, AZ on January 11, 1948 to parents Lyle and Shirley Mecham Morgan. When he turned 18, he enlisted in the Army and became a helicopter pilot. He flew in the Vietnam war, was discharged with honors, and came home to be with his family. Roger was a commercial and residential contractor the majority of his life, later to own his own company, The Morgan Company, retiring in 2017. He was known as a great contractor in and around the Snowflake area. Roger and his wife Judy joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in September of 1986. Roger served in many callings including Bishop in the Snowflake 6th Ward in Snowflake, AZ. He loved the youth of the church and was always happiest serving with them. He loved being outdoors; camping with his friends and family. Everyone always looked forward to his dutch oven peach cobbler, potatoes, biscuits and gravy. Roger especially loved hunting and fishing with his brother Luther Morgan and nephew Dennis Mattis.


Roger is survived by his wife Judy Morgan, daughter Annie (Troy) Townsend, daughter Laura (Devry) Burch, daughter Kathi Denney, son Alan "Dobby" Denney, brother Luther (Nancy) Morgan. Grandchildren Ashley (Cody), Brooklyn (Dallin), Devin (Katie), Madison (Colton), Brecken, Echo (Hayden), Valerie (Joe), Alex, and Crissy and 17 1/2 great grandchildren.


Roger was preceded in death by his son James Allen Morgan "Jimmy", brother Lynn Morgan, sister Sharon Holmes Hyde, grandson Benjamin and parents Lyle and Shirley Morgan.
