Ronald Leroy Andrews, a cherished member of his community and beloved family man, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2026, in Sun City, Arizona. Born on September 29, 1945, in Graceville, Minnesota, Ronald lived a life enriched by love, friendship, and a deep connection to the outdoors.
Ronald was widely remembered by numerous friends for his warm hospitality, highlighted by his legendary fish fries and homemade chips, which brought many gatherings to life. He was an enthusiastic angler who found great joy in fishing, a pastime he pursued with passion. His love of the outdoors also extended to golfing and casino outings, and he took great pleasure in family camping trips, where he created lasting memories with those closest to him.
Among Ronald’s proudest accomplishments were his notable achievements in golf and fishing. He earned the affectionate title of “Mr. Amiable” from the Bass Masters, highlighting not only his skill but his good nature and camaraderie. His remarkable golfing feats include a hole in one at the Sun City Country Club on Hole #7, as well as a hole in one at the Sartell, Minnesota on Hole #7. In 2016, Ronald further distinguished himself by winning the President’s Cup at the Sun City Country Club’s 18-hole course.
Ronald’s family was central to his life, and he is survived by his devoted wife, Carolyn; his loving daughter, Michelle Hrubetz; and his son, Brian Andrews, who is married to Melissa Preble. He also leaves behind his cherished siblings: Nancy Willette and her husband Tom; Barb Murray and her husband Danny; Deb Petersen and her husband Kim; as well as brothers Roger, Kenny, Larry (married to Nancy), and Mike (married to Mary). His family legacy continues through his grandchildren, Tim and Carisa, Tyler Hrubetz, and Jordan Preble Andrews, and his great-grandchildren: Teigan and Tatum Hrubetz, and Anja and Alena Hrubetz.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and brother Dennis. His memory lives on in the hearts of all who knew him and were touched by his generosity, kindness, and enduring spirit.
