Ronald Masters

August 17, 1932 — June 30, 2022

Ronald Stiles Masters of Sun City, Arizona passed away June 30th. He was born August 17, 1932, in Milan, New Hampshire, son of Jacob Amos Masters and Marion Evelyn (Stiles) Masters. Ronald was brought up on a large farm in northern New Hampshire where his strong and stoic family raised potatoes, beef and dairy cattle. He spent his scant leisure time hunting and fishing the streams and lakes of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. As a young man he explored the mountains on long hickory skis and played clarinet in the Berlin High School marching band. Following high school Ronald attended Army basic training becoming a machinist. In his new uniform he took Ann to her senior prom. From the moment he returned from the Korean War he and Ann were seldom apart. Having met on a blind date, Ronald married Ann Mary Pincence on May 7, 1955. Over the years he worked at State Motors in Manchester, NH and Public Service of New Hampshire. Together they raised four children, hauled a travel trailer around New England and Canada and enjoyed their camp on Maidstone Lake in Vermont. He was eager to learn new woodworking skills, and to improve his golf game. Ronald was an active member of his Arizona community belonging to the Elk lodge #2559, the American Legion Post 62 of Peoria, and Post 79 in Manchester, NH. Ronald attended Saint Clement of Rome Parish where he served as an usher and a volunteer at Bingo. Ronald loved his family, readily made new friends and manintained life-long friendships with many. Ronald leaves Ann, his wife of 67 years. He also leaves his daughter Sharon Tanzer and her husband Mark of Vermont, his daughter Lynn Clark and her husband Thomas of Chino Valley and his son David Masters and his wife Valerie of Apache Junction. He was predecessed by his parents and brother Gordon Masters and by son Greg. His long life awarded him four grandchildren, Erin and Matthew Tanzer, Stacey and Ronald Bouley, as well as eight great-grandchildren: Colin, Natalie, Rhys, Theo and Graham Bouley, Harriet LaBrecque, Bridger and Winslow Tanzer. Services will be held Saturday, July 16, 2022, at 10:00AM at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center, 12420 North 103rd Avenue, Sun City, Arizona 85351.
