Tom Stewart, beloved husband, father, grandpa, veteran, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026, at the age of 85.

Born on November 25, 1940, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Tom was the son of the late Roy Virgil Stewart and Marion Thelma Dobell Stewart. He later made his home in Peoria, AZ after moving there in 2003.

Tom was married to the love of his life, Margaret Fahy Stewart, for 57 beautiful years. Together they built a life centered around love, faith, hard work, family traditions, and unwavering devotion to one another and their children.

Tom proudly served in the United States Navy before building a successful career in computer software and later in real estate. He was known as a man who could fix anything, solve any problem, and always find a way to provide for his family through dedication and hard work.

Above all else, Tom was a family man. He was a constant presence at his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and activities, always cheering them on as their proudest supporter and proud grandpa. His greatest joy came from time spent with family — camping trips, vacations, holidays, birthdays, pool days, and simple moments together that became lifelong memories.

Some of the family’s fondest memories include magical Christmases and Easters, Tom checking to see if Santa came while his children waiting at the top of the steps, hunting for Easter baskets, family adventures like white water rafting and Kings Island, vacations together, and watching Tom lovingly care for his son, Trent. Tom and Margaret modeled strong family values and created a home filled with warmth, laughter, celebration, and unconditional love.

Tom loved golf, family get-togethers, vacations, cigars, and a good glass of Cabernet. His grandchildren especially loved when Grandpa became “Sharky” in the swimming pool. He also had a favorite saying that those who loved him will never forget: “If I were any better, I couldn’t stand it.”

Tom is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Fahy Stewart; his children, Heather Elizabeth Stewart Legeza (married to Gregory Scott Legeza), Erica Margaret Stewart Bone (married to Steven Patrick Bone), and Trent Christopher Stewart; and his cherished grandchildren, Derek Legeza (recently married to Nicole Gregory Legeza), Kylie Legeza, and Amelia Bone.

Tom leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, strength, and family devotion that will continue through all who knew and loved him.

Though deeply missed, Tom’s spirit, humor, and love will remain forever in the hearts of his family.
