Sherman A. Tarpening, 82, of Waterford, passed away April 4, 2006 in Sun City, AZ. Loving husband of Helen for 56 years, father of Timothy Lynn of Waterford, Steven Sharon of Peoria, AZ, Scott of Waterford, Karen Burdette Tom of Livonia, grandfather of Michael Heather Tarpening of Holly, Pamela Tarpening of Waterford, Jennifer, Alan, and Brenda Tarpening of Peoria, AZ, Jessica and Jaclyn Burdette of Livonia, great grandfather of Brenden of Holly, also survived by nephews Frank Pam Lessiter of Brookfield, WI, Neil Roberts Janet-deceased of Lapeer. Sherm is survived by several cousins. Sherm served in the Navy during World War II and was a member of Community Presbyterian Church of Drayton Plains where he served as an elder and Sunday school teacher. He was active in the Golden Age Club of Waterford, was an avid U of M football fan and loved the game of golf. Sherm was a graduate of Central Michigan University and retired from Camera Mart in Pontiac in 1986 after serving for 33 years. A memorial service is pending
