Stephen Charles Stefl, age 77, of Peoria, AZ, passed away on August 12, 2025.

Born on January 4th 1948 in Milwaukee, WI, Stephen married Linda when they were both young and he fathered 5 children, Betty Ann, Scott, Adam, David and Joel and later after divorcing his wife of 10 years, met his next life partner David Frieberg and went on to adopt and raise 5 more boys Mark, Daniel, Gilbert, Adrian and Mauricio. Stephen spent 20+ years in the Military as a naval corpsman, was a decorated Vietnam veteran and went on to become a lab technician, then after retiring from the military used his GI bill to graduate from ITT Tech and became a computer programmer working for the Arizona Department of Revenue.

In his earlier years Stephen loved to paint and play guitar. He loved reading books and often had a large library at his home. Stephen authored 2 Cookbooks "Stephen's Cookbook for Bachelors" Volumes I & II. He found joy in reading, painting , cooking and listening to audio books.

He is survived by his ex-wife Linda L. Lamb, his 9 children, and his 11 grandchildren; his sister Suzanna Nassen Stefl and her family: 2 children and 3 grandchildren; and his half-sisters, Kay Graves and Dawn Thompson. He was preceded in death by his daughter Betty Ann Stefl, his partner David Frieberg, and his father Charles L. Stefl.

A memorial picnic will be held in his honor on October 11th 2025, @11am in Las Brisas HOA Park. Please email adam.stefl@gmail.com if you plan to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or the Arizona Humane Society.

His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who knew him.
