Wade Anthony Chio died on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Scottsdale Village Square, Scottsdale, AZ. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 8, 1947. He earned and M.S. in Earth Science from Bowling Green State University and an MBA/CPA from Miami University of Ohio. He was an avid "rockhound" and loved digging for agates, crystals, and gemstones.

From 1971 to 1974 he was a First Lieutenant in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He served as a Combat Intelligence Officer for the SR-71 aircraft which provided intelligence that led to the freeing of the prisoners of war. In 1978, he was acknowledged in the book "Outstanding Young Men of America." Engaged by his brilliance and humor, it was his sincere love and concern for others that made Wade a "standout" Professor. He blessed students and peers alike during his career at Miami University in Ohio, St. Benedict's College, St. John's University, Adams State College, and Arizona State University, where he taught accounting information systems.

Wade leaves behind his loving wife of 47 years, Carolyn D. Chio. He is also survived by his brothers, Tom (Marlene) and David (Debby) as well as loving sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wade Willard and Marian Chio, and a brother, Terry Chio.

We have lost a loving and faithful husband, brother, and friend, who was devoted to his Catholic faith and his family. He was a true "gem" in our lives, and we are thankful to have been blessed by his presence.
