William M. McBride, (Bill), was born on May 24, 1939 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Dale and Jeanne McBride and was the older brother to Larry McBride, all of whom have proceeded him in death.
Bill moved to Denver, Colorado, with his family and completed his 12th year in high school at Denver South High School. He spent many years working in retail sales, 32 of those years was at Hodels Drugs in Bear Valley. Bill lived a life dedicated to family, friends, community and his faith, always giving of himself to help others. He taught his family the value of hard work, the importance of doing the right thing and how to love unconditionally. He was involved in several philanthropic organizations and later in his life he was a Stephen Minister and a Volunteer for Hospice of the Valley. Bill was also very involved in his faith, reading at Masses, assisting with training for those preparing for Baptism and Confirmation; teaching religion to high school students, assisting with VBS and many other activities. He loved going to Bible study and attended on a weekly basis.
Everywhere he lived he made lifelong friends and still to his last day he texted or called them on a regular basis.
He is survived by his wife, Shelly; daughters Deb (Jay) Corken, Teresa (Ben) Gutierrez, son Geary (Misty) McBride, son Bob McBride (Deceased), stepdaughters Christy Austin and Becky (Garrick) Delony. He was fondly known as “Papa Bill” to 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Though his loss leaves a huge hole in our hearts, the life that he lived and the profound legacy he leaves behind is lovingly celebrated. His life was a testament to resilience, compassion and unwavering devotion. Though he is no longer physically with us, his spirit continues to inspire and guide all who were blessed to know him.
