Earl Gene Landis

EARL G. LANDIS, 77 OF Anthem, AZ died Saturday March 29, 2008 after a
courageous battle with leukemia. He was born in South Dakota, to Langdon
and Esther Landis on June 1, 1930 and in Sept of 1953 he married Belva
Bev Usher. Earl served and received his commission in the U.S. Army’s
200th Engineer Combat Co during the Korean War. He was also a Master
Mason of Custer City Lodge #66 F&AM, Custer, SD for 54 years and achieved
32nd Degree in the Scottish Rite of Deadwood, SD in 1960. Although he was
a structural engineer prior to retirement, the accomplishment he loved
most was his woodworking. Earl is survived by his wife Bev of 54 years and his 4 children; Bruce Tai Landis, Columbia, MD; Brian Suzanne Landis, Elkridge, MD; Paulette COL. David Holtgrieve, Hampton, NH; Kristin James Moscicke, Sussex, WI and 3 grandchildren, Alexandra Landis, Michael and Jacqueline Moscicke. He is further survived by his sisters; Alice Johnson, Helen Sandberg, Hazel John Jacobsen, Donna
Kent Knutson and Shirley Fernen and many nieces and nephews. He was
preceded in death by his parents and sister Grace. A memorial mass will be held in his honor at the Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist, 4102 W. Union Hills Dr, Glendale, AZ at 1:00 PM Friday, April 4, 2008. His final resting place will be at St. Alban’s Episcopal Cemetery, Sussex, WI. In lieu of flowers remembrances in Earl’s name can be made to his parish, St. John the Baptist. Arrangements were entrusted to Menke Funeral Home, Sun City.
