KERSEY, Clara M. (Yancy)
94, of Glendale, AZ passed away on March 28, 2010. Clara was born on June 20, 1915 in Grand Rivers, KY. She moved to Glendale after high school and was employed by Mountain Bell Telephone as a long distance operator. Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Kersey, her parents, Luther S. Yancy and Zella Mae Yancy (Evans), a sister and two brothers. She is survived by son, Don (Judy), grandchildren Bill (Lisa), Bob (Nancy), and Kathy Mann (Pete) and 8 great grandchildren. Survivors also include sister, Mildred Jones of North Platte, NE and brother, Luther S. Yancy Jr. of Glendale and many beloved nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of the Valley. A Visitation will be at Menke Funeral Home, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with services following at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Resthaven Park Cemetery in Glendale.

    Clara was such a sweet person. We, Flonnie, Mickey and Norma and myself use to stop to see her in Payson and later in Glendale. We all worked with her at Mt Bell and so enjoyed visiting with her. My sympathy to the family, she will be missed.

    I worked with Clara for 30 years. She was a very dear friend of mine. I have spent time with her at her home in Phoenix, at her home in Payson, and at the assisted living home. She will always be in my heart. She was such a loving and kind person. I enjoyed her contagious laugh and her sweet spirit. I will miss her . I send my deepest sympathy to her family.
