As Director of the School of Art at ASU, I want to express my condolences for your loss. As a new resident to the area, I’ve been impressed by the ways in which our alumni, like your husband Edwin Hirth, have contributed to the special character of Phoenix and the region. I hope that this legacy is some comfort to you at this time.

  6. Cathy Edwards says:

I cannot tell you how sorry I am to hear this news, what a loss.
So talented, funny, intelligent and just all-around charismatic.
He was there for me at my sister’s service in 2000.
I really appreciated that he came down for that. Just shows
the kind of character he had.
There’s a special place in Heaven, I think for Ed, he’s one of the
    good guys.
    Cathy
