Mena Burrows entered her Eternal Home on Friday, January 30, 2009 at Royal Oaks Life Care Community. She was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland March 28, 1923. She graduated from Emmanuel Theological College in Birkenhead, England and graduated from the Preston Royal Infirmary with a SCM State Certified Midwife. She married David Burrows January 12, 1949, and immigrated to the USA with her husband and first born son Alan. She is preceded in death by her parents Robert & Margaret Thompson and brothers John and William. She is survived by her husband David; sons Alan, David, and Peter and a daughter Lynne Berlin as well as seven grandchildren, Brendan, Kelli, Sarah, Benjamin, Rebecca, Bryant and Aaron. She was an exceptional Mother, with a sincere Christian faith, and demonstrated her gifts in all of the churches her husband Pastored. She was a Sunday School Teacher, Girl’s Guild Leader, and speaker at many Women’s Conferences in Pennsylvania, Las Vegas, California and Arizona. Experienced as a midwife, she gave a message entitled “The Bethlehem Midwife”. She will be deeply missed by family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Interfaith Community Care, 17749 N. El Mirage Rd., Surprise, AZ 85374 or Bellevue Heights Baptist Church, 9440 W. Hutton Dr., Sun City, AZ 85351. A celebration of her life and Heavenly home calling will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 14, 2009 at Bellevue Heights Baptist Church. A reception will follow in the Franklin Hall. Arrangements entrusted to Menke Funeral Home, Sun City, Arizona.
